Roger's Run for AMC: Inspiring Strength and Resilience

Roger Loughran, a determined young individual facing arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC), exemplifies resilience and community engagement. At only 14 years old, Roger's life has been marked by both challenges and triumphs, including navigating daily tasks with limited joint mobility. Despite these hurdles, Roger lives a full, active life, participating in basketball, golf, fishing, scouting, and 4-H. His condition, which restricts his muscle and joint function, has not dimmed his spirit.

Roger's journey began with a prenatal diagnosis that propelled his family into a world of uncertainty. Through the proactive efforts of medical professionals and the support of an AMC-focused group, his family found the resources and hope necessary to navigate his condition. This support group was instrumental in educating them about AMC and preparing them for the challenges ahead.


Roger's resilience is encapsulated in his family's motto: "Never give up." This philosophy has not only helped Roger navigate his medical procedures and daily challenges but also inspired his community involvement. His active participation in sports and his role in hosting his own fundraising event, Roger's Run for AMC, highlight his dedication to raising awareness and fostering community connections.


Through his efforts and the unwavering support of his family, Roger has become a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration. His story is a compelling reminder of the power of resilience and the profound impact of community support in facing life's challenges.
