Family Fun at Kingston Rotary Club: Summer Festivities

Aired June 2nd, 2024

The Kingston Rotary Club is hosting an array of engaging summer events open to the public, spearheaded by key members including the current president Aaron Borland, past presidents Richard Kadabiani and Dana Coons, and past district governor Tony Marmo. These events aim to strengthen community ties and support various charitable causes.

The summer's highlights include the "Mutt Strut" on June 9 at Kingston Point Beach, which benefits local animal welfare organizations. This event invites dog lovers to enjoy a day filled with activities tailored for their furry friends, alongside various vendors offering dog-related products.

July will see the "Concerts in Rotary Park," featuring a series of free musical performances aimed at bringing the community together through music. Each concert promises an afternoon of enjoyment for families and individuals alike, showcasing a wide variety of music styles.

On September 22, the Rotary Club will host a "Chicken Barbecue Mini Festival" at the same venue, offering delicious food, live music, and various family-friendly activities. This event aims to recreate a sense of community spirit with a focus on enjoyment and fellowship.

Rounding out the seasonal events is the "Cap to Cap Run" on October 20, a 5k run that traces a historical path significant to the local heritage. This event combines fitness with a celebration of local history, culminating in a community gathering that supports the Rotary's ongoing service projects.

These events are not only meant for fun and community engagement but also serve as a fundraising mechanism to support the Rotary Club's various service initiatives throughout the year, such as scholarship programs and veteran support activities. Each event is designed to cater to diverse interests within the community, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy while supporting a great cause.
